On Monday, March 10th 2025, researchers from ETH Zurich, in collaboration with members of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), hosted the closure event for the two-year Building Resilience in Health Infrastructure HAC project. Funded by the Engineering for Humanitarian Action (EHA) initiative, the project focused on assessing and strengthening health infrastructure resilience, particularly in crisis settings.
The event featured a presentation on the Health Infrastructure Resilience Toolbox, developed using the Rafik Hariri University Hospital in Beirut as a case study. This toolbox provides practical guidance for health facility managers, humanitarian organizations, and global stakeholders to enhance resilience in conflict-affected regions. The event also included discussions on the broader applications of the research and potential future collaborations.
Attendees engaged in an open discussion on opportunities beyond the case study, followed by an apéro to continue conversations on advancing health infrastructure resilience.
