Humanitarian Action Challenges (HAC) Grantees Workshop 2025

The annual Humanitarian Action Challenges (HAC) Grantees Workshop is a cornerstone event of the Engineering for Humanitarian Action (EHA) partnership, offering a dedicated space for our grantees to connect, exchange ideas, and deepen collaboration across institutions.

Held in Bern, the 2025 workshop brought together the full HAC grantee community for an engaging afternoon of presentations and dialogue. From large language models in global health to innovations in climate resilience and prosthetics, each project sparked lively discussion and cross-disciplinary insight.

We were pleased to welcome members of our Steering Committee, including Valerie Abrell Duong, Gilles Carbonnier, Isabel Günther, Ed Bugnon, and Klaus Schönenberger, as well as representatives of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, whose support alongside Rolex and the Foundation for the ICRC makes this initiative possible.

The workshop is a vital opportunity to showcase progress, reflect on shared challenges, and collectively strengthen the impact of the HAC grant and the broader EHA collaboration. We’re excited to build on the momentum and ideas generated this year as we look ahead to future workshops.
